B. 25-4268 Potential Revisions to Council's Policy on Speaker Protocol

The chairperson should not reduce opposition speaking time if multiple speakers wish to speak. There have been several contentious items come before the council in the past year where 10 minutes per speaker was not enough time to adequately address all of the issues. Speakers were allowed to address the council by splitting up the items so each speaker could have time to address their issue without repetition.
Please keep the time limit for opposition at 10 minutes for public hearings.

I respectfully offer the following input on the Speaker Protocol subject:
    1) The meeting Chairperson should not reduce allotted time for speakers during a meeting. Citizens have worked hard to prepare and stay within time limits. Reducing this time at the meeting is not polite or fair.
    2) Speakers should have access to the AV system like most localities. Not using this asset is old fashioned. Of course submission ahead makes sense.
    3) 10 minutes for opposition speakers please.

    Thank you!
