I strongly oppose the concrete barriers and bump-outs on King Arthur Boulevard. While I support improving safety, these structures have created dangerous conditions, with 38+ accidents, four near misses, vehicle damage, and a bicyclist seriously injured. I respectfully ask the City to remove these hazards and work with residents on safer alternatives. Please see attached letter
I would like to see the cement bike barriers on King Arthur removed. Not only do they detract from our neighborhood aesthetics but they’ve created more danger and problems on the road. Additionally, the bike lanes that don’t go anywhere are collecting trash and debris. I’d like to know the city’s plan for clean up? Street sweepers will not be able to safely navigate this obstacle course.
CH home to wide roadways, new concrete bumpouts/barriers depart from that. Accidents, injuries and damages have occured. community wants change-Flashing speed limit signs, enforcement, roadway striping vs barriers. Maintenance costs over decade more expensive than removal costs. Silly to only allow 500 characters here but 3 minutes to talk
Dear City Council,
I strongly oppose the concrete barriers and bump-outs on King Arthur Boulevard. While I support improving safety, these structures have created dangerous conditions, with 38+ accidents, four near misses, vehicle damage, and a bicyclist seriously injured. I respectfully ask the City to remove these hazards and work with residents on safer alternatives. Please see attached letter
Sincerely,
Kathryn McGhee
